About Us

bizartX is a platform connecting business researchers across the globe.

bizartX facilitates the engagement of community members through its online platform, as well as its unique colloquia that employ the metaphor of an ‘art gallery’ in showcasing the impact and creativity of research projects.

Why an 'art gallery'?

The art gallery concept breaks the paradigmatic modes of communicating research ideas, such as traditional presentations and posters.

By encouraging business researchers to embrace artistic fervour in capturing the essence of their projects (e.g. paintings, still imagery, video productions, sculptures, poetry, dance performances, among others), bizartX exhibitions:

  • challenge researchers to capture the true impact of their work in a highly succinct way
  • provide opportunities to have fun by engaging in creatively complementary activities outside of the academic norm
  • start free and open-ended conversations between researchers and audience that lead to novel ideas, rather than limited conversations guided by traditional presentation formats
  • increase the visibility of researchers and research projects to the industry and general public

What is the bizartX online platform?

The bizartX online platform allows the business researcher community to stay connected academically and socially. By joining the platform, researchers:

  • enjoy free membership
  • create their own profiles
  • message other community members
  • participate in topical discussions
  • join interest groups
  • receive information on events
  • organise local meet-ups
  • take part in online courses

Bernadetta Devi - winner of "gomr '19 Award"

My PhD research investigates mining governance in Indonesia particularly where industrial mining interfaces with artisanal and small-scale mining operations. My research is inspired by my previous and current working experiences engaging with mining companies, governments, civil society and ASM miners in South-east Asia especially Indonesia. I have also engaged with international organisations as a consultant for social and governance aspects of mining.

Rebecca Rose Langdon - winner of "gomr '19 People's Choice Award"

I am a current academic and safety professional within the construction industry. I have an interest in the safety management and wellbeing of infrastructure workers. My professional career has worked closely with these workers on a range issues including health, wellbeing, safety, and quality. This work has inspired me to understand and engage better with these workers to improve their psychological wellbeing.
