I am a 3rd year PhD student at the School of Management, QUT Business School. I am interested in exploring the inclusion/exclusion of shop floor worker voice in the strategic CSR agenda of the global south apparel factory floor.

Critical scholars note that CSR (corporate social responsibility) practices are used strategically as a smokescreen to obscure the exploitative nature of corporate capitalism. This drawing illustrates how and to what extent shop floor worker voice is included/excluded in the strategic CSR agenda of the global south (Sri Lanka) apparel factory floor given the majority of poor young female workers are perceived not only as easily trainable, disciplined, and disposable but also as docile dispositions on the factory floor.
